Show And Tell #47 - Pumpkin Patch

FO's

- I show off the Hanging Basket Set. If you click the link before, you can purchase a downloadable PDF version. If you prefer the free versions they are as follows: Convertible Hanging Basket, Over-The-Rod Hanging Basket, and Pocket-Style Hanging Basket. I used a single skein of Bernat Home Dec to make the set.

- Little Grey Pumpkin using the Spice & Clove Knit and Crochet Pumpkins pattern. I used Caron Simply Soft in the Grey Heather colorway.

- The slightly bigger pumpkin was made roughly using the above pattern. I used Red Heart Grande in the Oatmeal colorway.

- I made the most adorable tiny pumpkin using the Pumpkin pattern. The yarn is from Undead Yarns in the This is Halloween colorway held double. I then made a second one that was slightly larger using the same pattern and yarn (I just increased the number of rows and the stitches within each row).

- I modified the Little Rustic Pumpkin pattern for the next pumpkin and used some scrap Knit Picks Felici yarn held double.

- I also made a pumpkin using some scrap acrylic yarn I had in an Orange and Black colorway.

WIPs

- I'm still stitching along on the Sweet As Pie kit from the Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery.

- The BlueSand Cardigan is coming along. I hope I can wear it before it gets warm again!

Life

- I've been recording other parts of my life besides the crafty goodness and I'd like to share it with you all! I think that I'm going to start another channel to house everything besides the crafty bits because I think it will probably just be easier in case some of you are only interested in the yarn (and who could blame you). :D

#45 - Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! *

FO's

- I showed a basic hat that I made using Brava Worsted, but that was a FO last time. Oops!!!

- Coffee Cup Coasters using a variety of yarn and H hook. The pattern is from Repeat Crafter Me and is super cute! These were very well received, let me tell you!

- Fair Isle Hat using the pattern from Yarnspirations, but with a twist. I used the colorwork chart from hkcwwong I saw on Ravelry instead of the Yarnspirations' chart. The colorway was Strawberry Chill from Caron x Pantone.

WIPs

- I'm making a beautiful Wood Bead Garland, but I wasn't able to show it off. Next time! And maybe a tutorial too!

- I am making a Hitchhiker Shawl for my friend using Knit Picks Stroll Handpainted in the Lullaby colorway and using needles I bought on Amazon that are very similar to the old Chiaogoo Red needles. They have that cabled cord I love so much about my Red Lace set! I linked to a similar set on Amazon as the ones I purchased before are not available from the same seller.

Acquisitions

- At my work's holiday party, I received 4 gorgeous skeins of yarn from Hobby Lobby.

Life

- Other than some random ailments, things have been good. I've been working a lot and enjoying all the holiday festivities.

- I'm very thankful to have my crafting mojo back. I hope it never leaves me again!

- Go watch this video from Amy Beth aka The Fat Squirrel. It's so good!

#44 - I'm Back!!!

Hi!!! It's been so long since I've done a podcast, but I'm back and there will most definitely be more! Onto the show notes! *

FO's

- Basic Hat (just winged the pattern) out of Knit Picks Brava Worsted in the Camel Heather colorway. I used size 8 16 inch fixed circulars from Knit Picks.

- Stacked Eyelet Cowl by Ami Madison using Handspun from Amy/mingmow/Rain Barrel Designs. It's gorgeous and I love the way it worked up! I used size 6 Chiaogoo interchangeable needles. It lived in a bag by Southpaw Creations.

- I'm making all the Granny Squares for an upcoming pattern and tutorial. (kinda a WIP too)

WIPs

- No-Heal SpiralSocks by La Maison Rililie using Knit Picks Felici in the Surf's Up colorway and living in a bag from Rain Barrel Designs.

- I'm making a hat out of Caron x Pantone yarn in the Strawberry Chill colorway. I used the cast on count from this pattern from Yarnspirations, but I don't think I'm going to use the actual colorwork pattern. Not sure yet! For the needles, I'm using size 9's for the band and will switch to size 10's when I'm done with the ribbing. They are the 16 inch interchangeables from Knitter's Pride.

Acquisitions

- I bought 6 colorways of Caron x Pantone from Michaels. The colorways are Strawberry Chill, Elephant Gray, River Rock, Ultra Violet Minerals, Frozen Berry, and Terrarium Green.

#42 - Answer To Everything

So...it's been so long since I last updated! Unfortunately after I recorded and updated in July, life really got messy and it's taken me a long time to get back at it. I have missed this so much and I am very glad to be here typing and making Youtube videos again.

I've made a few videos on Youtube since I last updated the website. Rather than spread them out into individual posts, I'm just going to embed my latest podcast below and include the show notes after. I did make a couple other recent videos so I'll just link them. Catching Up is where I talk about what's been going on and it's like a mini-podcast but not a podcast. 2018 Goals is where I talk about my goals for the year. That title was pretty obvious!

Onto the podcast, which I am no longer calling Show and Tells from this point forward. I will be updating the site here to reflect that this week. <3

I will be doing a video on hand knit socks so if you have questions, please let me know!

Life

- My husband and I went and saw Waitress. It was such a fun musical and I loved it!

- I'm still plugging away on the January Cure. So far, it has made a huge difference. There was a death in the family and I had to get things ready to host family in very short order. Because my house was mostly already tidy, I just had to do a few things versus feeling like I needed to clean my house top to bottom.

FOs

- The baby hat was a pattern made up by me on the fly after looking at a few google image searches. :) I used Vanna's Choice in Sage and Linen.

- Prairie Socks is a pattern by Kay Jones, that was a gift from Amy. The yarn was A Yarn Well Spun in the Gaffer's Garden colorway. When looking for the link to her shop, I found out she has changed her name to Rhapsody in Hue

- I spun up some beautiful fiber from Brenda and Heather Yarns in the Peacock colorway. It was a blend of superwash and non-superwash merino and Tussah silk! So gorgeous and easy to work with!

WIPs

- Hobbledehoy battlings in the Space Opera colorway. This has been a WIP for me for a very long time and one of my goals for 2018 is to finish it up. This is specifically part of the #2018makenine challenge.

- I've been working on a hotpad/potholder, but it went awry and I frogged it, but since I'm still working on it, it totally counts as a WIP! I'm using Lily Sugar n' Cream in Natural Stripes.

Aquisitions

- Bright pack of cotton loops and a set of just white loops for my 10 inch potholder loom. All of these are the Harrisville Designs brand. I'm including affiliate links to the ones I purchased on Amazon.

- My friend Amy has launched a new Etsy store called Rain Barrel Designs and you all should check it out! She sent me 4 bags (!!!) as well as some other goodies as a gift and oh, I love them all!
