Crochet Butterfly Ornament

Day 5 of the 12 Days of Craftmas is here!!!

I know that butterflies don't seem like they'd belong on a Christmas tree, but they just work! My sister loves butterflies and I made these to remind me of her (and made some to send to her). Plus these are made of yarn and you all know I love yarn and any excuse to use it! :)
Here's the written pattern for you:
Crochet Butterfly Ornament

- Worsted Weight Yarn
- US Size H 5mm Crochet Hook
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors
- Scrap yarn or thread for attaching to tree

Rnd 2: Sl st in next st, *Ch 3, 5 Dc in space, sl st in 2nd st* x 6, Ch 3, 5 Dc in space, sl st in base of ch 3 to join.
To Finish:
Ch 8, Fold in half away from you so that the Ch 8 is pointing up. Wrap chs around butterfly and sl st into 1st ch. Bind off and weave in ends.
To make antennae, using same yarn as butterfly place 2 knots approx. 1.5 inches apart. Trim excess near the knots. Slip strand under the wrapped chains at the top.
Use scrap yarn to make a loop for attaching to tree. Hid the knot behind the wrapped chains.
